Description: The Franklin Park Ice Arena is a full service facility owned and operated by the Park District of Franklin Park (FPIA). The FPIA is unsurpassed when it comes to quality and customer service. We offer programs for all levels of figure skating and hockey. Below are just a few of the upcoming programs being offered. Give us a try and experience the difference! PUBLIC SKATE - Relaxing - Energizing - Perfect for Meeting New Friends! The Franklin Park Ice Arena offers Let's Skate Public Sessions 5-6 days a week. Lunch hour skates are a relaxing break from work. Our weekend sessions are conveniently scheduled in the afternoon and evening. Reasonably priced, fun, always a great time to enjoy with family and friends. Skate all season long with a season pass, it pays for itself in no time. SKATING SCHOOL - Our Skating School program is conducted in accordance with the national standards established by the Ice Skating Institute (ISI). This program allows you to progress at your own rate, moving up in class levels as you build on fundamentals and advance to more difficult skating maneuvers. At the Franklin Park Ice Arena, our mission is to provide a thorough skating education in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. With many years of experience beneath our blades, we have introduced thousands of participants to the sport of ice skating. Learning to skate is fun for all ages and is something that can provide you with a lifetime of recreational enjoyment. New sessions begin 4 times throughout the year: September, December, March and June. Visit our website to download the current schedule at www.fpice.com STARR BLADES Synchronized Skating Team-If you’ve mastered the skating basics and can demonstrate good precision and balance along with speed, the Starr Blades could be for you! This group of 8 to 32 skaters executes various moves in unison, using forward and backward skating steps. Speed and accuracy are emphasized as the formations are performed. Our PANTHER PAWS classes cover hockey basics for youngsters ages 3+. All great hockey players are great skaters, so that's where we begin. Through progressive drills, Panther Paws I teaches hockey players as young as 3 proper skating technique. In Jr. Panthers, designed for future stars ages 6 and over (and those recommended by Panther Paws I instructors), we move on to stick-handling drills. We end the session with a game on the "big ice"—and every player gets a jersey!
